Community Bread Oven Gathering Space
Many Thanks to all of the folks and organizations that helped make this project a reality.
This is a collaborative project in inner-city Albany between Grand Street Community Arts, the Free School Community, and HVNB. We built a community gathering space that includes a sculpted cob bread oven and cob benche for gathering.
The Bread Oven Gathering Space is an innovative project that has involved a diverse cross-section of participants from the neighborhood at every level, from design and planning, to building the space, to using it. The completed space provides a much needed outdoor gathering space that will provide a creative and artistic outlet. It will give a whole new meaning to breaking bread together.
